fUN FOR CHEWERS WHO LIKE SQUEAKY TOYS

This toy looked nothing like this when new. My french bulldog, let’s call her Zoey, worked long and hard to take a pristine, dry, fairly hardy toy and turn it into a piece of art. Despite it then resembling an unfortunate pair of boiled eggs framed by shredded fibres, and suspended from a saliva-drenched layer of unconvincing ears, this toy was still held in high regard by my dog. Us, the owners, didn’t agree, and with a mixture of regret and relief, we chucked it in the bin. Haha!

This toy gets serious brownie points for not completely disintegrating, despite the determined chewing dished out by our bright eyed little bulldog. I think it works very well for chewers who like finding little snags or imperfections and then doggedly unpicking the flaws until they can gut the toy and lay bare its innards. Whether it can withstand the crocodile chomps of much bigger dogs is another story. Our other dog, a divine basset hound, let’s call him Mooz, isn’t much of a chewer and wouldn’t dream of wasting his power and smarts on a mere toy.

This toy cost less than a tenner, and was great value. We have replaced it, twice. She loves how the toy squeaks and it is clearly satisfying to chew on. She loves holding it and squeaking it loudly, then she tries to invite you to play tug or somehow get involved with her and play. Note that this is the SMALL size, not the large size one.

This seems a great toy for energetic dogs who like chasing, chewing, fetch and tug. Probably not the best toy for the dogs who like to mimic draught excluders by lying around looking gorgeous, with the occasional fart or dream twitches!
